A Letter from our Chief Operating Officer Dana Minacapelli

Ivy Pets Amazing Team

Dear Valued Clients:

As we celebrate Veterinary Technician Week this week in our hospitals, I want to take this opportunity to recognize and honor each one of our heroes for the invaluable work they do every day. They are the unsung heroes of veterinary medicine—working tirelessly behind the scenes, showing incredible dedication, skill, and compassion for our patients and their families.

Veterinary medicine is not just about treating animals; it is about healing hearts, offering comfort, and making a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them. Our veterinary technicians are the ones who hold frightened pets, soothe worried clients, and provide exceptional care in even the most challenging situations. They are the lifeblood of our hospitals, and without their expertise, our mission to provide top-notch veterinary care would not be possible.

As a former veterinary technician myself (I still consider myself one, it is just not my day to day anymore), I truly understand the daily challenges they face. I know the long hours, the emotional toll, and the sheer physicality of their work. I also know the deep commitment and love for your animals that drives them to give their all, day in and day out. More than anyone, I recognize the dedication and specialized training that makes them not just a caregiver, but a highly skilled medical professional.

Veterinary technicians are integral members of your pet’s care team, and their role requires not only compassion, but deep technical expertise and medical knowledge. Their resilience, patience, and passion for animals set them apart as true heroes. Every day, they make a difference—whether it’s supporting a critical surgery, providing gentle care to a sick pet, or simply offering a reassuring smile to a client in need.

I am continuously inspired by their hard work, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to excellence. In a profession that demands so much, they consistently go above and beyond. It is the honor of my career to work alongside and more importantly support such a talented and compassionate team. Veterinary Technician Week is a moment to celebrate them. If you have time in your schedule this week please feel free to stop by and thank them in person.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Dana Minacapelli
